Action Legal Process Contractors Info
Welcome to Action Legal Process as a contractor.
This website is for your easy reference to answer basic questions along the way. If you're getting ready to go out on a serve, or want a reminder what to do once it is completed, review the basic tips on these pages.
When you get your first serve, Ron gives you his personal cell number. Please only use it if you need assistance while you are live on a serve. Due to the number of contractors working for us, all other times please use the office phone number (888.511.1919 ext 9) or email him at Ron@LocalProcess.com.
Here is an edited copy of the first email you got during sign up:
Pay day is on the Tuesday of each week with the pay period ending midnight on the previous Friday. In order to be paid, the affidavit for the job must be completed and turned in via email as a PDF within two days of receipt. Typically, it has to be notarized which is normally free where you bank. When we email you an affidavit, sign it in front of a notary in blue ink and email us a copy promptly and mail the original to me. Email affidavits to affidavits@localprocess.com. Email invoices to Invoice@LocalProcess.com . You cannot invoice us for a job until the affidavit is emailed. Invoices should be turned in for the same week the affidavit is complete. Invoices not turned in within 10 days will not be paid.
ALL documents must be sent to us as PDFs. This includes the attached documents you need to return to finish the application process.
Jpegs, PNGs, and other formats CANNOT be used, ever. A camera phone cannot be used. It has to be a real scanner (flat bed or sheet fed) hooked up to a computer.
Communication is very important. If something is not going well, let me know so we can resolve the issue. You will be given my cell phone number. You can text me while you are on the scene trying to serve. Otherwise, call me at the office or email me rather than use my cell. I have several servers so please only use the personal cell when on the scene. If you are sick or have promised me you would go out to serve a job at a specific time, please notify me or have a family member notify me immediately. These are important legal matters we are serving and deadlines must be met. It’s not like pizza delivery where someone just doesn’t get their order. Remember, while you are a contractor, I am your employer just as your full-time employer would need to be contacted if you are incapacitated or going to be out of town for more than a day.
You can download the app by looking for iPST2. It is very important to give your full attention to the videos when you watch so you can effectively know the process. They don’t take much time, but they are very important.
Upon completion of viewing the videos, please email and mail me your W9 and the completed IC agreement and then mail the originals to my office.
I will email you a user name and password after you do the demo on the app.
I also encourage you to join our private Facebook group to get ongoing messages. I will answer questions that other process server contractors have as well as address issues that come up. If you are using a FB account that does not have your first/last name, you’ll have to let me know so I know to approve your request to join.
Finally, PLEASE SEND WEEKLY INVOICES TO THE FOLLOWING EMAIL ADDRESS SO IT DOESN’T GET LOST. Invoice@localprocess.com Only use this for invoicing. Invoices are due midnight Friday. Please bill weekly for all jobs that are done. We send out payments on the following Tuesday, so if you get an ACH payment, it will probably hit your bank on Wednesday or Thursday. When you send your first invoice, please include your routing number and account number in the body of the email (so I can copy and paste accurately) so we can electronically pay you and you will get paid quicker, typically in 2 days or under. Posting to your bank account depends upon your own bank. If you do not want to do ACH, just advise and a check will be mailed. That, obviously, will take longer.
By completing this process, you are accepting this agreement. You also understand that if you agree to attempt to serve a job, unless we discuss otherwise, service attempts must start on an average of two days, or less if you like. Attempts should be no more than two days apart on average and on different day parts. If it’s a residence, try to go when you think you’ll catch them at home, like evenings or a Saturday morning. If it’s a business, go during business hours.
If something rare comes up that you cannot work on a service attempt as outlined above, please contact me in advance rather than wait for me to contact you ask if it was done, so that we can figure out where to go from there. When an attorney or other process service company contacts me and asks for service by a certain date, if it is not routine service, I’ll contact you by text and make sure you’re available. If there is a better way to reach you, advise me. Please follow through for the job. The attorneys have court deadlines to meet and if the service is not attempted through diligence by certain dates, they have the expense of refiling or may have to dismiss the suit. If we don’t do our job, we may BOTH be civilly liable. It all comes down to communication. 😊
I want to help you be as successful as possible so ask me questions.
Welcome aboard
